- Abstract
The article discusses reports of the Fusarium solani fungus as a pathogen in elasmobranchs and in fishes, with a focus on the identification of the necrotizing mycotic infection in two newborn bonnethead sharks, Sphyrna tiburo. Topics include research on the pathogenesis of Fusarium solani, a review of reports of Fusarium infections and the symptoms exhibited including ulcerative external lesions, and tank conditions for the two bonnethead sharks at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland.
