- Authors
Hull, R.
- Abstract
This article examines several virus diseases in sweet peas in England. The virus disease which are common in sweet peas are called streak and mosaic. Although several viruses have been isolated from sweet peas, there has been little indication as to which of them are the main causes of mosaic and streak. Symptoms of bean yellow mosaic and common pea mosaic viruses in sweet peas are almost identical. The first sign of infection is vein-clearing of the young leaves followed by a mottle of interveinal light green dots. Common peas mosaic, bean yellow mosaic and pea enation mosaic viruses were found to occur frequently in sweet peas in the country.
