- Abstract
The article discusses a study which investigated the impact of centralized telephone-based care management along with automated symptom monitoring on pain and depression in patients with cancer. The randomized controlled trial involved 202 patients from community-based urban and rural oncology practices under the Indiana Cancer Pain and Depression (INCPAD) trial. The authors observed improved pain and depression outcomes in cancer patients who received care in geographically dispersed urban and rural oncology practices.
