- Abstract
The article discusses the history of Fort Reno in Oklahoma. Topics include the establishment of the Fort Reno in honor of Major General Jesse Reno who died in the Battle of Antietam during the U.S. Civil War, and notes the historical events that took place in the area including the signing of a treaty in 1867 which establishes reservation for the Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes and its role in keeping German prisoners of war in 1943.
