- Abstract
Nasopalatine Duct Cyst (Nasopalatine Canal Cyst/ Incisive Canal Cyst) is a developmental & non-odontogenic cyst with male predilection. It arises due to spontaneous or triggered proliferation of the epithelial remnants of Nasopalatine Duct that usually undergoes progressive degeneration during foetal life. The subjects are usually asymptomatic or may present with swelling, discharge and pain from the hard palate. The definitive diagnosis is based on clinical, radiological and histological findings. Surgical enucleation via palatal approach is the preferred treatment modality. We present a case report of idiopathic Nasopalatine Duct Cyst in 28 year old male patient describing the surgical management with 6 months post operative follow-up.
