- Abstract
This article discusses a study conducted by Zhao et al on the awareness, attitudes, and understanding towards genetic testing in patients with hemophilia. The study aimed to gain a better understanding of the knowledge and attitudes of female relatives of patients with hemophilia towards genetic testing. The study found that there is limited background knowledge and information among family members and relatives regarding genetic testing for hemophilia diagnosis and treatment. However, despite this lack of knowledge, the subjects included in the study showed positive perceptions and attitudes towards genetic testing. The article also raises the question of whether the findings of the study can be applied globally, considering the technical and infrastructure challenges faced by low- and middle-income countries.
