- Abstract
The article presents a study on the mean difference between the SCanning Imaging Absorption spectroMeter for Atmospheric CartograpHY (SCIAMACHY) surface solar irradiances (SSI) and Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN) irradiances. The study reveals that correlation coefficient between BSRN global irradiances and SCIAMACHY SSI is 0.93. The results recommends that the SCIAMACHY SSI product attains the same mean bias error as the surface solar irradiances from polar orbiting satellites.
