- Abstract
The article describes the case of a female patient with posttraumatic stress disorder and alcohol use disorder who receives substance use treatment at a homeless shelter. Topics discussed include the patient's traumatic experiences, symptoms experienced by the patient, psychological considerations by the physician during the patient's initial visit, and the challenges facing psychiatrists in treating homeless patients.
