- Abstract
This article discusses the use of tofacitinib, an oral Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor, for the treatment of synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis (SAPHO) syndrome, a rare autoinflammatory disease. Tofacitinib has shown significant improvements in pain, skin lesions, inflammation, and quality of life in patients with SAPHO syndrome. However, there is limited data on its use during pregnancy. The article presents a case report of an unintended pregnancy in a patient with SAPHO syndrome who was treated with tofacitinib. The patient had a healthy pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby after discontinuing the medication. The article suggests that further monitoring of pregnancy outcomes in tofacitinib-treated patients is needed.
