A diagnosis of malignant effusion was made, favoring a tumor with round cells; cytologic differential diagnosis included a germ cell neoplasm, lymphoid neoplasm, or less likely, a myeloid neoplasm. Dysgerminomas are gonadal germ cell tumors which arise from undifferentiated primordial germ cells of the ovary.[1] They represent one of the three main ovarian tumor types and are the female counterpart to testicular seminomas.[1] They are uncommon in domestic species and are seldom reported in amphibians.
