The article focuses on the aspects of the works of Père Antonin Jaussen, Dominican priest who has been part of the École Biblique in Jerusalem, on various detailed reports regarding French intelligence during the Middle East war. Topics include a brief history of how France serves as protector of Catholics during the weakening of the Ottoman Empire, the French protest on the British imposition of martial law, and the establishment of the Services des Informations au Levant (SIL).
