- Abstract
The article looks at the recording background of the Columbia Symphony Orchestra (CoSO) and its connection to the history of Columbia Records. Topics covered include the history of the orchestra since its first recording "The Battle of Manila," was launched on a wax cylinder in 1900, the various divisions of CoSO through collaborations with other orchestras like the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and recordings done by CoSo such as "Violin Concerto," by Andrew Imbrie.
