- Abstract
The article discusses the key elements needed to improve birth outcomes using a population-based approach in the U.S. These elements include integration of social and behavioral care, relentless outreach to keep high-risk women in care systems, and coordination of fragmented services. Also explored are the factors contributing to poor perinatal outcomes and screening of Medicaid pregnancies.
