The article talks about mining of Sapphire in Montana, United States that includes two major places like Missouri River gravel bars, Dry Cottonwood Creek, Yogo Gulch as the primary deposit and exploitation of alluvial sapphire deposit. It discusses about sapphires at Rock Creek known as Gem Mountain, gold miners discovering Montana sapphire crystals in the gravel bars in upper Missouri River, heat treatment done to enhance the quality and sold to gem dealers, jewelers and hobbyists.
