- Abstract
The article discusses a study which compared two detection methods with peanut butter based detectionof little fire ant Wasmannia auropunctata (Hymenoptera: Formicidae). The detection methods employ the pheromone attractant 2,5-dimethyl-3-(2-methylbutyl)pyrazine (2-MeBu-diMePy). Study authors concluded that the pheromone-incorporating methods showed greater species specificity, retaining Wasmannia auropunctata exclusively.
