- Abstract
The article focuses on the importance of educating patients on the significance of umbilical cord blood (UCB) donation in the U.S. It mentions that UCB has been a valuable resource for patients lacking appropriate stem donors and is readily available wherein the collection is less invasive. It highlights the role of physician assistants (PAs) to expand the knowledge on UCB banking, donation and its uses, giving an opportunity to assist patients suffering from life-threatening diseases.
