- Abstract
The article examines the texts of "The Aspern Papers," by Henry James and "Possession: A Romance," by A. S. Byatt. Love letters as one of the most intimate form of conversation as well as its cultural importance is discussed. The plot of "The Aspern Papers" is described and the point of view of the researcher and the antagonist, Miss Juliana Bordereau is examined. "Possession" focused on the secret correspondence of the famous Victorian poet Randolph Henry Ash.
