- Abstract
This article explores the role of fun in workplace health and well-being. The author suggests that incorporating fun into the workplace can help alleviate employee burnout and improve productivity. The definition of fun is discussed, highlighting its association with positive emotions, playfulness, and connection. The health benefits of fun are explored, including its impact on physical and psychological well-being. The article also examines the importance of fun in the workplace, noting its positive effects on employee performance, organizational success, and worker health and productivity. Different types of workplace fun are identified, such as organic, managed, and task fun. The potential benefits and drawbacks of gamification in the workplace are also discussed. The article concludes by introducing contributors to the topic, including Catherine Price, who has researched and written extensively about fun, and other experts who emphasize the importance of play and fun in health promotion activities.
