- Abstract
The article focuses on the ibis breeding of ancient people in Saqqara, Egypt. It notes that the number of mummified ibises in Saqqara has suggested that Egyptian must have once raised ibises on an industrial scale and wild harvesting would almost certainly have become unsustainable. It states that a research team led by professor David Lambert at Griffith University in Australia is analyzing DNA both mummified and modern ibises might shed light on whether ibises were domesticated.
