- Abstract
The article focuses on the move of producers in the global wine industry. The author opines that there is a bustle of activity in the global wine industry as producers endeavor to make the greenest wines. Ukiah, California-based Parducci Wine Cellars released news that they were the first U.S. wine producer to achieve carbon-neutral status. Western Cape of South Africa-based Backsberg Estate Cellars announced that it had completed a year-long assessment of carbon emissions by both its farming and wine making activities. Roger Kerrison of the New Zealand Wine Co. predicts that carbon audits will become the norm in the industry and that early adopters will reap the greatest benefits.
