- Abstract
The article covers teaching explanation construction and engaging in argument from evidence, as covered in the book "A Framework for K-12 Science Education." The authors state emphasis should be placed on evaluating ideas to find the best explanation by using primary or secondary scientific evidence. Students engaging in argument should create data supported arguments and identify flaws. Examples of students using these practices studying gravity, condensation, and population change are given.
