- Abstract
The article focuses on the Rule 706 of the Federal Rules of Evidence and the Pennsylvania Rules of Evidence that authorizes court-appointment of independent expert witnesses with the common law precept that authorizes judges to question witnesses. It mentions that adversarial judicial system of the U.S. is discerned when a jury is presented with two opposing viewpoints which can be tested through the crucible of cross-examination.
