Improper to Admit Evidence of Injured Party's Insurance.
- Authors
Maroney, Patrick F.
- Abstract
This article provides information on court cases related to insurance contracts. In the case of Florida Drum Co. v. Thompson, the Florida Supreme Court recognized that a jury's knowledge of a defendant's liability coverage may result in the jury attributing liability where non exists, because of sympathy and the belief that the financial burden would not be borne by the defendant. The case of Travelers Insurance Co. v. Warren, indicated that an injured person may not recover both bodily injury liability benefits and uninsured motorist benefits under the same policy.
