- Abstract
This article presents court decisions on cases related to risk and insurance. In the Jones v. Wesbanco Bank Parkersburg case, the court held that the bank was entitled to the payment of the insurance proceeds as of the date of the fire damage. In the Liquor Liability JUA v. Hermitage Insurance Co. case, the court ruled that Hermitage was liable for the full amount of the settlement, one-half of the defense costs and interests. In the Verriest v. INA Underwriters Insurance case, the jury awarded almost $500,000 in damages against James Curley Pierce, who was involved in a car accident resulting in the death of one person and serious injuries to another.
