- Abstract
The article discusses the legal aspects of aesthetic regulations in the U.S. in relation to private property laws, the right to privacy, and the First Amendment to the nation's Constitution as of April 2010. Individual liberty and a state's interest in promoting beauty are addressed, along with the impact of personal autonomy and pluralism on a society. Regulations of signs and billboards are examined, along with the U.S. Federal Highway Beautification Act and freedom of speech laws.
