Young indigenous women face various obstacles in their daily lives that hinder the development of a process of sexual empowerment, however over time, being in various spaces, they have developed tools that have made it possible, so the study becomes necessary. So the study of what hinders it and makes it possible becomes necessary because is required for women to appropriate their sexuality, make decisions, legitimize their desires and pleasures. This work takes an approach from the intersectional feminist theory from a narrative method and presents the analysis of the trajectories of six young indigenous women who live in Mexico City, to know the obstacles and the conditions of possibility for the development of a process of sexual empowerment. Among the findings, the pressure to comply with gender mandates, community surveillance of sexual life, receiving information with a patriarchal bias, difficulties in accessing health, lack of economic resources, guilt, shame and fear, are obstacles to developing the process of sexual empowerment; while access to education, economic autonomy, dialogue with other women, gender awareness, access to health and knowing their rights have been key aspects for their development.
