- Abstract
This analysis of the French prospective NutriNet-Santé cohort (2009-2019) investigated the associations between dairy product consumption and CVD risk. Daily dietary intakes were assessed for 104,805 adults who were followed-up for a mean 5.5 years. 1952 participants developed CVD during follow-up. Multivariable Cox models found no significant association between dairy intake and total CVD risk. However, the consumption of =160 g/day of fermented dairy such as cheese and yogurts was associated with a reduced risk of cerebrovascular disease compared to intakes <57 g/day (HR 0.81, 95% CI 0.66-0.98; p=0.01).
