- Abstract
The article features the study conducted by Chris R. Stokes and colleagues on the impact of ice stream dynamics and shutdown in the superimposition of ribbed moraines on palaeo-ice-stream bed. Research shows that the sediments and landforms preserved on the stream beds can furnish important information about their subglacial conditions and flow mechanisms. They concluded that both sets of landforms were formed by ice flow but the overlying eskers suggest a subtle change in flow direction after ribbed moraine formation prior to deglaciation.
