The authors discuss research on targeted therapies for melanoma. They reference the study "Genetic Alterations and Personalized Medicine in Melanoma: Progress and Future Prospects" by K. G. Greiwank published in the current issue of the journal. They cite how recent developments in genomics had led to major advances in targeted therapy for melanoma and that the developments will serve as a model for implementation of personalized medicine for cancer patients.
