- Authors
Watts, James W.
- Abstract
An essay is presented discussing the account of the Biblical high priest Aaron and the incident of the Golden Calf depicted in Exodus 32, analyzing the rhetorical purpose of the event within the larger context of the Pentateuch. The author points out the incriminatory nature of the narrative on the legitimacy of Aaron's priesthood and seeks to address why the account remained in the Pentateuch despite this fact.
