- Authors
Berger, Yitzhak
- Abstract
This article presents a comparative discussion between the inner-Biblical interpretation of the Old Testament stories of Ruth and King David. An overview is given of the scholastic theories regarding the book of Ruth as being composed to counter negative depictions of King David's ancestry in the books of Samuel. Particular parallels are examined between the story of David and Abigail with the narrative of Ruth.
