- Abstract
The article discusses the genre of pseudepigraphal letters within the New Testament, the Christian apocrypha, and within Jewish literature. Focus is given to the classification of the genre's features, including lists and references to established apocryphal epistles to derive known characteristics, the literary purposes of pseudopigraphal works, and conclusions regarding features which can be used to definitively test a text's authenticity.
