- Abstract
Human rights form the basis of freedom, peace and justice, and on these grounds the rights that belong specifically to children have emerged, in order to pay special attention to and treat them accordingly. Children as human beings must have all the opportunity and potential to be able to act in a free society based on the rights they have in terms of living, social and intellectual standards. These rights belong to children universally, are inalienable and undeniable, as they must be acted upon. The basic principle of every state, but also of every human being in general, should be to respect the rights of children regardless of religious, racial, ethnic, gender, or country of origin. Therefore, in the following paper we will bring an overview of children's rights, the characteristics of these rights and the types of rights that belong to children based on various international conventions.
