- Abstract
The article comments on the effectiveness of the Australian government's budget for the prevention of chronic diseases. It offers insights into the measurement of the success of a preventive strategy. The risk factors of chronic diseases are identified, including obesity, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, alcohol misuse and tobacco consumption. The importance of collaborating with the government and the community in preventing chronic diseases is explained.
