- Abstract
The article "Cultural Transits in the 19th Century: Musicians, Painters, Actors, and Writers on the Stage of National Consolidation in the Southern Cone" from the journal Meridional analyzes the circulation of knowledge and practices in the Southern Cone during the 19th century. It focuses on travelers and cultural mediators who had an impact through artistic, literary, and philosophical manifestations. The article highlights the Rio de la Plata region as a center of artistic diffusion in the region and examines the formation of a modern lyrical circuit in Buenos Aires. It also mentions the contributions of women in art and the role of translation in the reproduction of ideologies. Finally, it discusses the importance of analyzing political philosophy from a Latin American perspective and addresses the topic of culture in different institutional spheres.
