- Authors
Lujan, Brendan; Gersdorff, Henrique
- Abstract
The author discusses the study "Synaptic reliability and temporal precision are achieved via high quantal content and effective replenishment: auditory brainstem versus hippocampus," by E. G. Krächan and colleagues. Topics include the importance of lateral superior olive (LSO) in high-frequency sound signals, the comparison of medial nucleus of the trapezoid body (MNTB)-LSO synapses in hippocampus, and the role of entorhinal cortex, dentate granule cells and superior olivary complex.
