- Abstract
The article examines the impact of sarcopenia and bodyweight loss on mortality in older heart failure patients. Sarcopenia and weight loss often coincide, increasing mortality risk, yet their individual impacts on mortality are similar, suggesting complex underlying mechanisms. Topics include sarcopenia, cachexia, and the multifactorial nature of heart failure-induced wasting syndrome.
