- Abstract
There is a strong reason why Indians face problems in managing oneself in role and in one's interface with organisations, in particular in a globalised economy. This reason is the unique history of the indian sub-continent, both in terms of the quantity and quality of invasions, particularly the Vedic invasion and the resultant caste system with its accompanying hierarchy, guilt and projective identification processes. Here international relationships and relatedness are playing out old internalised issues around hierarchy, guilt and projective identification, both in terms of the way these are experienced and acted out by the Indian psyche as well as the western psyche. To that extent people from the west too are in many situations in the present era of a globalised economy unable manage themselves and their organisational role when it comes to dealing with their relationship with the Third World.
