- Abstract
The article focuses on a study that examined the role of hypothyroidism in increasing the serum creatinine levels. In the study, serum creatinine levels and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were assessed in thyroidectomized patients. Study found that iatrogenic hypothyroidism significantly increases serum creatinine and reversibly impairs eGFR.
