- Title
Transracial Adoption: Politics and Ideology.
- Authors
Hayes, Peter
- Abstract
The article focuses on the transracial adoption (TRA) of minority children during last twenty years around the world. In the author's opinion, the minority children that are available for adoption have a right to develop a sense of ethnic identity and a knowledge of their culture heritage. In the last 20 years, strong institutional opposition to the TRA of minority children by Caucasian parents has spread from New York-based National Association of Black Social Workers to child welfare agencies throughout the United States and Great Britain.
