- Abstract
The article focuses on the entry of Africa popular culture into the global mainstream, with the continent becoming a major exporter of popular culture to the world. Topics covered include reinvention of Nigeria's recording industry set off by the advent of digital audio technology, the influence of Nollywood, Nigeria's film industry, to Tanzanian and Ghanaian filmmaking, and branding that Nigerian pop music has underwent leading to the birth of Afrobeats.
