- Abstract
The introgression lines (ILs) derived from interspecific crosses with wild accessions were subjected to stability analysis and QTL mapping for yield related traits for three seasons. According to GGE biplot, G14 (C1-15) was identified as most stable genotype for single plant yield. The introgression line G65 (C1-101) was identified as stable and adaptable and most ideal line for single plant yield across three seasons. Similarly, G50 (C1-74) was observed to show stable and higher total tiller and productive tiller numbers; G148 (C1-225), G116 (C1-177) and G76 (C1-116) were identified with stable total grain weight as per AMMI biplot analysis. Further QTL mapping for yield traits detected seven QTLs with LOD > 2.5 for plant height, total tillers per plant, productive tillers per plant, biomass per plant and single plant yield on chromosomes 2, 5, 6 and 11. Multi-environment testing for QTL analysis detected 52 QTLs on three environments and among the QTLs, two QTLs qPTN2.1 on chromosome 2 and one QTL qBM11.1 on chromosome 11 were consistent in two environments within the same marker intervals. The allele for productive tiller number was derived from donor parent 166S and the allele for biomass per plant was derived from recurrent parent Swarna. Thus, evaluating the advanced breeding lines across multi environment help to identify stable yielding genotypes and these lines can be used in future breeding programmes. This approach of using prebreeding lines as donors will minimize the undesirable trait inheritance from wild accessions when directly used as a parent in breeding programme.
