- Title
La política exterior de los gobiernos de Felipe González: ¿un nuevo papel para España en el escenario internacional?
- Authors

- Abstract
The Spanish Transition to democracy in foreign policy finished in 1986-1989, with the integration in the EEC and a new policy of security within the NATO. The adopted diplomatic model obtained the consensus of the main parties till 2003. The process was prolonged in time because the PSOE had to evolve ideologically, as the Greek and Portuguese socialists did. This article re-examines the factors of that change (the need of reinforcing the process of democratization, the ideal of Europe, the pragmatism of Felipe González) and analyses the continuities and changes in the Socialist foreign policy.
