- Title
Is There Anything New about Border Tax Adjustments and Climate Policy?
- Authors
Sheldon, Ian
- Abstract
The article presents a study on the impact of the adjustments in border tax for climate policy on the international competitiveness of energy-intensive trade and carbon leakage-related problems. It says that the border measures' inclusion in the legislation for climate change represents two concerns, such as reduction of firms' competitiveness and carbon leakage. It adds that no carbon price from which border adjustment will be based will exist due to the presence of free allocation.
