- Abstract
Residual current differential protections are mostly used in household applications, although there are situations when this sort of protections are considered to be used in industrial applications too. Residual current devices can operate at 50 Hz, 60 Hz or 50-60 Hz. The functioning of these differential protections at 50 or 60 Hz is possible due to the simplicity of the adjustment of the release current and time values. It is possible to determine the protections functioning at 50 and at 60 Hz by modifying electronic components. Although it is not our intention to adjust the functioning of a protection from a certain frequency to another one, we could modify the values of the release time and current to a certain frequency of the specific protection.
