- Abstract
The article analyzes the novel "The Song of the Lark," by Willa Cather. According to the author, Cather's methods of writing and the spatial design of her novels are juxtaposed with the diversity in amount and types of characters within them. The author addresses a theory of link between Cather's pioneer background and her technique of juxtaposition. The books "Death Comes for the Archbishop," "The Professor's House," and "O Pioneers!" are also discussed. The author looks at the role of different characters within these novels.
