- Abstract
Mathnawi is one of the Divan Poetry's form. In the Classical Literature, mathnawi form was prefered instead of modern novel and story in literary texts. It was resorted to mathnawi form when especially long winded subjects or stories was wanted to be recounted poetically. Mathnavies appears as detached works in eastern litraries. Among these works, being about love mathnavies are most popular. One of them is Cemşîd ü Hurşîd Mathnawi that Cem Sultan who was one of Ottoman princes wrote by inspiring from Persian original text. Former work is substantial in terms of literary styles. lirerary styles as Duanâme, Münâcât, Nasihatnâme, Şefâatnâme, Medhiye, Fahriye, Hasbihâl, Münazara, İtizâriye, Tazallüm, Mektup, Şükürnâme, Firaknâme which determined referenced in the work, played an important role in the creation of internal and external structure of the text. In this study, the information which obtained from Cemşîd ü Hurşîd mathnawi by scanning carefully in terms of literary styles from first sentence until the last sentence, was evaluated. Each style which partaking in the work, discussed whit a holistic approach in this study. However, literary styles which partaking in the work as is a separate research topic, they should be interpreted under a separate heading. In our study, tried to identify all the literary styles, by evaluating examples of literary style which create separate sections, was exemplified with the shape of simplified couplet-based texts examplaried for these in mathnawi. Besides, tried to reveal the functions of literary styles about creating texts by making evaluations on literary genre, literary styles and narrative techniques which partaking in the work.
