- Abstract
War is not necessarily a bloody activity, but it is necessarily political. This, as an activity of the spirit and feeling, nests in the minds of those who take part in it. In the world of the 21st century, the increase in relationships and shared interests makes it difficult for wars to be total; what exists is a gray area in which the rivalry of the different actors is reflected in specific shots. Narratives and images are fundamental as tools of political persuasion. In this sense, they are also elements of Soft Power, including History, which can be implemented as the best of narratives. These allow control of the information agenda which, in turn, allows control of reality, as well as creating assumptions that serve International Relations and help implement policies. The cultural domain and, above all, cinematography are key elements in such a purpose, because the facts do not matter as much as their perception, their memory and recall.
