- Title
Plasma iohexol clearance as an alternative to creatinine clearance for CAPD adequacy studies.

- Abstract
The article cites a study that tested the hypothesis that plasma iohexol clearance acts as a simple surrogate to creatinine clearance for continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis adequacy (CAPD) studies. Many CAPD patients depend on residual renal function as a major contributor to total clearance. The toxicity profile of iohexol has been extensively evaluated and it is considered to be the least nephrotoxic contrast agent available.
