- Abstract
The low surface energy material and high-temperature modified asphalt are optimized as film material to test the hydrophobic protective material properties against water, ice and freeze-thaw adhesion from the perspective of surface energy. The freezing adhesive characteristic and fine aggregate adhesion properties under different conditions were analyzed. The results show that the hydrophobic protective material can effectively reduce the freezing adhesive force between ice and road surface. With the increase of curing time, better performances in fine aggregate adhesion, water resistance and freeze-thaw resistance are obtained in wet abrasion samples with protective material. The application of this hydrophobic protective material against ice is significant in the development of asphalt pavement maintainence technology.
